It's not the size that counts...
Found these inspiring office sheds and fell in love...if only I had a yard!
This is the writer, George Bernard Shaw's office. Notice the size of the wastebasket...

What are you reading?
Oh how we love our books! And our office can be a great place to house them...what could be more inspirational for our workspaces than to be surrounded by the books we love...

Creating a Stylish Home Office...
This post by UK designer Atelier Abigail Ahern sums up this professional organizer's feelsings about home offices beautifully:
Whether that’s a nook under the stairs, a spare bedroom, a private library or a desk in the corner a home office should look as fabulous as every other area of your home. I have pulled out pretty much from being in the store at all (a scary decision but a necessary one) and now use my home office as my base. Except it doesn’t actually look like a home office – imagine a vintage 50s gnome (from an amusement park) which doubles up as a light hanging out on the balcony near my desk, a woollen zeebra rug skimming the floor, apples crates full of logs for my fire and a zillion different lights from supersized to teeny tiny. Since this is where ideas come to life I want a space that inspires and stimulates. Layer your office as you would your living room, art on walls, heaps of cushions on chairs, flowers, books all that personalise stuff that transforms a room from being ordinary to extra ordinary. The two images below illustrate rather beautifully how this can be done – both images from Elle Decor:

If your office shares a spare with your living area treat it in the exactly same way – layer, layer, layer and personalise.
This pretty much nails what I am talking about at first glance you wouldn’t really think it was an office.

Filing cabinets - the good, the bad and the ugly...
Almost everyone is familiar with the that awful, banged up metal filing cabinet that haunts the corner of most offices, or the back of your garage. The stickers and magnets still can't disguise it's unfortunate ugly usefulness. Is there any alternative...

Grinding it out...
Sometimes getting out of the office to get some work done is a very good idea. Whether you are a student writing a paper, a sole proprietor working on a new marketing campaign or a business executive just needing some space, your local coffee shop/cafe could be a very inspiring space to work.
After all, J.K.Rowling wrote the first Harry Potter books at a coffee shop in Scotland and that seemed to go just fine...
Adam DiStefano has written a great post on home office vs coffee shop. He points out the pros and cons of each setting. Obviously, you don't have to go outside your office everyday, but when the mood strikes, why not?
Just food for thought...

It's a man's world...
What does a man's office look like? Dark wood, leather chairs, bigger furniture, lots of books, multiple computer screens, a TV, formal artwork - lots of bronzed horses, no flowers - maybe a plant, not much pattern - animals prints. These are the more traditional male spaces...

Just too cool...
Found this on Mashable...how inspiring office environments are becoming...
This is the office of Swedish internet service provider, Bahnhof. An old underground nuclear bomb shelter bunker.
The London based public relations company, Raw Materials, chose to park 4 old tube train carriages on top of another building.
One of the things that drove me out of corporate years ago was the damn meetings in those awful ugly meeting rooms... if only we could have met here, like the folks at Miami's brpr .
"May I help you?"

And speaking of outdoor offices...British designers Wayne and Geraldine Hemingway, really know how to work and live well...
We've all come to work feeling a bit like a dummy, but this one is for real...Junk My Car has taken this to heart and installed "Sven" as their receptionist.
Check out the full post on Mashable, it's well done.
